Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

Where in the World Am I? The Geo-Guessing Game ("the App", "we", "us") is published by K2 Mountain Apps. We take your privacy seriously and aim to collect as little information about you as possible.

Information we collect

  • Local game data. Your high scores, language preference, daily play count and (in the paid version) purchase status are stored on your device using localStorage / native storage. They are never transmitted to us.
  • Anonymous usage analytics. If enabled, we use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymous events such as round started, round completed and approximate distance score, plus standard analytics signals (device type, app version, country-level location, session duration). These are used only to understand which features players enjoy.
  • Purchase data. If you upgrade to the full version on Android or iOS, the purchase transaction is handled entirely by Google Play / the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
  • We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with third-party advertisers.

Third-party services

  • OpenStreetMap — tile imagery for the map. Your IP address is visible to OpenStreetMap servers when tiles load.
  • Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons — location facts and CC-licensed images.
  • Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage metrics.
  • Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — in-app purchase processing.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Analytics events contain no personally identifiable information.

Your rights

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App or by using the "Clear scores" button on the High Scores page and your device's app-data-clear function. To opt out of analytics, disable analytics permissions in your device settings or uninstall the App.
